A California police officer has been filed against 15 charges of crimes and up to 22 years in prison after being charged with suspected compensation for workers and theft of more than $ 600,000 by taxpayers.
Nicole Brown, a former Westminster Police Department, suffered a head injury in 2022 as he tried to handcuff a suspect and later put a disability.
According to a press release on May 20 by the District Prosecutor of Orange District Prosecutor, Brown, at 39, “complained to his clock that she had a headache and felt dizzy, but a doctor who examined her the same day, released her without restriction.”
A few days after the incident, Brown called a patient to work for several days in a row and later was diagnosed with a severe concussion syndrome and was placed on complete temporary disability, according to release.
Employees who receive a work injury are entitled to their full salary up to one year in addition to all medical fees. The District Prosecutor’s Office claims that Brown costs Westminster more than $ 600,000 in taxpayer money during his disability.
While on his damage, Brown complained of “headache, dizziness, sensitivity to light and noise, problems with thought and words processing and inability to work on the computer or to make some screen,” the newspaper claims.
However, an investigation is said to have witnessed drinking and coupons at the Stagecoach Music Festival in April 2023, despite the strong, crowded environment with temperatures above 100 degrees.
It is also alleged that she went to Disneyland, attending three AYSO football conferences, went to snowboard or skiing at Big Bear and Mammoth, held two 5K competitions, golf game, took online courses and attended baseball games.

Brown’s stepmother Peter Schumann, who is a licensed lawyer in California, has also been charged after being charged with assisting her in fraud, advocating her name during a meeting to discuss what police obligations she can perform. The meeting was held three days after the Stagecoach Music Festival. During the meeting, Brown claims that “he claims to be unable to look at the screen” and “sat in a dark room” with Shuan, who speaks on her behalf, the newspaper adds.
57 -year -old Schumann has been charged with a crime for making a deceptive claim for compensation and a number of crimes to support, encourage, conspirator and attract a person into illegal action. Schumann has a maximum sentence of eight years in prison and may “suffer a discipline by the State Bar Association,” according to the district prosecutor.
Brown has been charged with nine crimes for committing a fraudulent statement to receive compensation, six crimes for making a fraudulent claim for compensation and one crime for committing a aggravated crime of a white collar over $ 100,000. If he was convicted on all charges, Brown could face up to 22 years in prison.

Before his vacation, Brown served as an officer for a homeless contact in Westminster.
“I just don’t think someone is hopeless,” Brown said on the site behind the 2020 badge. “It’s not the most beautiful job of dealing with the homeless. You can take out one of the streets and can return to the street and this is that cycle. But in fact, you can influence someone’s life.”
At that time, Brown partner Roland Perez said about her: “She has compassion. She is related to notes. Everything is organized. She keeps me focused.”
