Christy Nobody said an immigrant threatened to kill Trump. The story quickly broke up

A claim by Minister of Homeland Security, Christie Nov, that an immigrant threatens the life of President Donald Trump, began to unravel.

Noem announced an arrest of a 54-year-old man who lived illegally in the United States, saying he had written a letter threatening to kill Trump and would then return to Mexico. The story received a flood of media attention and was emphasized by the White House and Trump’s allies.

But investigators actually believe the man may have been placed so that he or she is arrested and deported from the United States before getting a chance to testify as a victim of an attack, a man familiar with the question told the Associated Press. The person could not publicly discuss details of the investigation and spoke to the AP provided for anonymity.

Law enforcement officers believe that the man, Ramon Morales Reyes, has never written a letter that Nov and her department shared with a message written with light blue ink, expressing anger for Trump’s deportations and threatening to shoot him in the head with a rifle. Nov also shared the letter of X along with a photo of Morales Reyes, and the White House also shared it in its social media accounts. The letter was sent by post to immigration and customs execution of the service together with the FBI and other agencies, the person said.

As part of the investigation, the employees contacted Morales Reyes and demanded a sample of handwriting and locked his handwriting and the threatening letter did not coincide and that the threat was not reliable, the person said. It is not clear why internal security staff have still decided to send a message making this claim.

In an email statement requesting information about the letter and the new information about Morales Reyes, the Ministry of Interior Security said that “the threat investigation is ongoing. In the course of the investigation, this person was defined in the country illegal and that he had a criminal record. He will remain in custody.”

His attorneys told him that he was not facing current charges and they had no information about the sentences in his record.

Immigration and customs law enforcement shows that Morales Reyes is being held in a District Prison in Juno, Wisconsin, northwest of Milwaukee. Milwaukee -based immigrant rights group Voce de la Frontera, which is advocating for his release, said he was arrested on May 21st. Lawyer Cain Oulahan, who is hired to fight his deportation, said he had a hearing at the Chicago Immigration Court next week and hoped he was released.

Morales Reyes was a victim in the case of another man waiting for a lawsuit on a Wisconsin attack, said the question. The test is scheduled for July.

Morales Reyes works as a dishwasher in Milwaukee, where he lives with his wife and three children. He has recently applied for U Visa, who has been carved for people in the country who are victims of serious crimes, said lawyer Kime Abduli, who filed this application.

The Miluoki Police Department said it was investigating an incident with the theft of identity and intimidation of victims associated with the matter, and the district prosecutor’s office of the district said the investigation was going on. Milwaukee police said no one was currently charged.

Abduli, a lawyer of Morales Reyes, says he could not write the letter, saying that he did not receive a formal education and cannot write in Spanish and does not know how to speak English. She said it was not clear if he was arrested for letters.

“There really is no way to be even true,” Abduli said. “We ask for an explanation and correction from DHS to clear Ramon’s name for everything related to this.”
