Philadelphia – Police are investigating a video made on Barstool Sansom Street showing an anti -Semitic sign ordered by patrons.
A student at the University of the Temple was stopped because of the role they played in the incident and their brotherhood responded. Plus, Dave Portnoy has an update.
History
On Sunday, Dave Portoy turned to an anti -Semitic incident that happened on Barstool Sansom Street on Saturday night.
According to Portnoy, when patrons order a bottle service at the bar, signs are usually displayed and displayed.
Unfortunately, in a video posted on Instagram and X, Portnoy says, “There was a sign yesterday that says F — Jews.”
Portnoy said he had a word about the incident while preparing for Barstool Bet Gala, which was happening on Monday in Scotsdale, Arizona.
Portnoy examined the frames for the observation of the Fili bar and continued to look for answers.
On Sunday update, Portnoy said he had fired the two waitresses responsible for carrying out the anti -Semitic incident.
Then Portnoy said he would use this as a “teaching moment” by sending the people who ordered Auschwitz’s anti -Semitic sign to learn about the Holocaust. Porto, who is a Jew, says he will pay for them to go and go around concentration camps.
“For anyone who wants the lives of these children to be ruined, I think you can give up and I think it’s honest * explicative * trade,” Portnoy said.
In a statement on Sunday, the President of the Temple University John Fry said after an investigation, the University Student Affairs Department identified a student in the temple participating in the incident.
The school has put the student in an intermediate stop.
“In the as much possible conditions, let me be clear: anti -Semitism is disgusting. It has no place in the temple and acts of hatred and discrimination against any person or persons is not tolerated at this university,” the statement said.
“All additional students who have been found to be involved will face strict disciplinary actions under the Code of Conduct of Students, including including expulsion,” the statement continued. “I know that such incidents do not represent our community and its values. Thank you for your support and continuous commitment to ensure that Temple provides a safe and welcoming environment for all its students, teachers, employees and neighbors.”
What we know
Police in Philadelphia say central detectives continue to investigate the video.
On Monday, the brotherhood of the student at the University of Temple, Kappa Delta Rho, made a statement on their social media, saying that the alleged actions of one of their members did not reflect their values or character.
They partly wrote: “We do not justify, support or tolerate any language, behavior or activity in social media that promote hate or discrimination of any kind.”
Rabbi Baruch Cantor, director of the Stanley Jewish Life Center, Roch Chabad, says that students and graduates suddenly began to call him on Sunday.
“A student at the temple at a bar, on a Saturday night and that’s all they think to do? I just don’t understand it. Why are people so hateful and why are people so ignorant? Honestly, it bothers the mind,” he says.
He feels that Portnoy’s response to send two of the people involved in Auschwitz is important, but he also feels that education for Judaism is too.
“If we teach people about their own innate potential to make the world of God a better place, maybe they would enjoy more and may not hate,” he says.
Senior Gabriel Laden, who is also a Jew, says he was angry, disappointed and unfortunately not surprised when he saw the video. He says he visited Auschwitz himself and had an emotional experience, but he has mixed feelings.
“I respect this, but at the same time I have friends who say,” Why do they send this person on vacation? “And I also hear this aspect,” he says. “This is a teaching moment, I feel, and good at Dave Portnoy, that he has not ruined that man’s life and we hope that some good can come from that.”
Dance teacher participating in the incident
Dance Xpress Dance Studio shared a message to Instagram, saying they had found that one of his dance teachers was involved in the incident. “She will never again teach at Dancexpress,” the publication said.

In feedback, Portnoy canceled the paid trip to Poland, especially for the participating student.
On Monday afternoon, Barstool Sports creator went on Instagram Stories to say that although he spoke with the student on Sunday, for whom he said he took “100 % Responsibility” for the anti -emetic sign, the student has since made 180.
Portnoy then publishes a screenshot showing the publication of the alleged student, where they do not accept any accountability of the incident.
As a revenge, Portnoy canceled the educational trip, which was intended to emphasize the history of the Holocaust.
“Whatever the consequences, he comes to him, he won and deserve 100%.” Portnoy writes in Instagram history.
