Whether it is ultimately called the iPhone Flip or iPhone folding or something completely different from the rumors, there is obviously a lot of bet with probably Apple’s first folding iPhone. It is still a long way before his debut, and although the most leaks show that Apple is investing strongly in an “almost invisible” fold, I really hope to put the same amount of resources to build another, equally important feature.

I am referring to how you would handle the task of multitasking, which I think is crucial for any notebook in the style of notebook. On the one hand, Apple can simply repeat how it makes the multitask of its iPad. But after seeing what his competition has achieved, Apple cannot afford to ignore the development of an entirely new system that has a bigger meaning for the iPhone.

Apple has the reputation to go after perfection, which I hope Apple is poured into making a multitude of rivals, but also surpasses what we have seen. Beauty is not only on the surface, it is found deeper and it is a chance to improve the mainly how people interact with folding.

Before I get into the details around what is needed to fold the iPhone with the multiditude, I just want to share my thoughts around the crease in today’s best folding phones. Each of them has a visible fold to some extent, but it does not prevent me from using them.

Obviously, the wear will lead to a more clear crease over time, but I barely notice that after turning on the display. What I am trying to say is that the crease does not affect the way I interact with the display of my Galaxy Z Fold 6, as aesthetic, what it looks like and physically when I touch the screen. Watching videos almost makes the crease disappear unless I look at it from an odd angle.

Application switching is not the same as multi -tagging

Through the 18 main iOS versions that have been released, Apple has not yet come out with its own version of the multitasking of the iPhone. Do not understand me wrong, I was excited when the iOS 4 finally gave us the opportunity to switch between applications, but what I crave most is that the multiplicity of the application side.

The closer thing we have is the multitudinal functions of the iPados, where it makes it in three different ways: split view, sliding and central window. They work well for the iPad, but they may not be ideal for the smaller folding of the iPhone-there is a rumor that there is a 7.74-inch main display. This would still be less than the 8.3-inch display found with the iPad Mini, so the attempt may not be the same.

One of the other challenges surrounding the multitasking of the iPhone is the amount of power and memory required to simultaneously launch applications. At the moment of my iPhone 16 Pro Max, I could release several apps before they were refreshed. Nothing annoys me anymore when I open an application just to resume it when I try to get back to it after I start another application.

Multiporseity can unlock the biggest potential of the iPhone

The reason why I want Apple to invest seriously in developing a multitudinal iPhone folding system is that it can be the key to introducing a new experience, unlike anything we have seen earlier. And Apple really needs to look at its competition in order to come up with a multitudinal system that is practical and efficient.

One of the best multitudes I have seen so far is Open Canvas with OnePlus Open. It is with your hands the best multitudinal telephone so far, largely because the display is dynamically adapted to launch multiple applications at once. The remarkable thing about this realization is how it can launch applications in full-screen applications with others that you can see in the animation above.

I am not saying that Apple should copy this, but this is the kind of brilliant thinking that makes the multitudinal folding device intuitively. Beyond how applications are arranged in a multidarities, I am also eager to see what cross action Apple will offer. Naturally, the dragging and the drop would be the logical ones that you have to bring to the iPhone, but Apple will have to do a lot more to split.

Finally, I think the multitasking of the iPhone folding can also be the ability to introduce new accessories to make it separate from any iPhone before it. An accessory that comes to mind is a combined case and keyboard, similar to the one available on the iPad Pro 2024, which could help overcome this gap to make it a laptop.

Either way, this is the area where Apple has to spend more than its time and effort. With the WWDC 2025, set for June 9, it will be interesting to see what new changes will come with iOS 19, with rumors of adding a desktop mode similar to Samsung Dex.
