GBI says 500 shots were fired and about 200 cartridges struck six CDC buildings, although no employee was injured. During the investigation, written documents were found, expressing White’s distrust of Covid-19 vaccines, which investigators described as a personal statement, not a direct threat.
Authorities say White has entered a safe at his family’s home to have access to a firearm – a mixture of rifles, a rifle and a pistol – belonged to his father. The greater part of the restored shells of the shells come from a long gun. White is reported to have died of a self -inflicted firearm wound.
GBI has confirmed that Dekalb County police officer David Rose has been shot and killed while responding to the incident. “He serves with honor, courage and unwavering dedication,” Hosi said. “His victim will never be forgotten.”
The FBI special FBI agent said SWAT’s federal teams had cleared the CDC Campus room after the shooting to ensure they were not victims inside. A close kindergarten was evacuated and all the children were safely gathered with their families.
So far, five firearms, electronic devices and video evidence have been restored. The FBI and GBI are asking anyone with additional frames or information to connect to the top line of 1-800-597-coesions or to use the “See something, send something” app.
Officials also said they did not notice an increase in threats against CDC after firing, but remained in close contact with CDC Security to share any intelligence.
Hossi and Brown have joined the temporary chief of police Gregory Padrick of the Dekalb County Police Department; Assistant Chief Carven Tis from the Atlanta Police Department; Chief Burt Boat at the University of Emori University and others.
