A vigil is planned for the mother of a 5-year-old girl killed in a crash by an accused drunken driver in Franklin on the weekend of the Day of Memory, which also died.
The 38 -year -old Franklin Potel died days after the May 24th crash, in which she killed her daughter Krisha Patel, 5, according to the District Attorney and a Facebook publication by The Safe Coalition on Tuesday afternoon.
“The Norfolk District Prosecutor’s Office and the Franklin Police Department are saddened by the loss of Porben’s family and we are expanding our heartfelt condolences,” said Norfolk District Prosecutor Michael Morrisi and Franklin Police Chief Thomas Lynch in a statement on Tuesday.
A vigil for Minaben Patel is planned on Thursday on the scene of Grove Street in Franklin, said in a Facebook post.
Passage Patel, 38, from Franklin and her daughter Krisa Patel, 5 -year -old, died after a crash in Franklin on May 24, 2025.
Another vigil was held at the place last Wednesday for her daughter Krisa Patel in place.
“We would like to share through the wishes of the families that the past Patel, the mother of the sweet Krisha, has died,” a coalition said in her post.
“The Parben family is again deeply grateful for all the love and support shared in the last week,” the group says. “They invite the community to honor this amazing mother, wife, family member and friend this Thursday for a memory service.”
The driver, accused of the fatal disaster, James Blanchard, 21, was ordered to be held on a $ 250,000 cash guarantee after his contract on May 27. It is not a guilty recognition of guilty recognition on behalf of Blanchar.
He is accused of killing motor vehicles while driving carelessly and under the influence of alcohol, three driving issues under the influence of alcohol and causing serious bodily injuries, careless driving, driving a motor vehicle with an open container of alcohol and noted a violation of the lanes.

As he was home at around 6:22 pm on Saturday, May 24, Blanchard collided at Honda Accord, carrying a four -family family on Grove Street in Franklin, Meid said. They went to Blackstone for a birthday party party.
The 5-year-old girl died after the crash, Meade said.
Her mother and brother were taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Brother’s condition was not known on Tuesday.
Her father, the Honda driver, was treated and released.
Defense Defender Timoti Flahurti asked the court during a Blanchard contract to impose a less than $ 10,000 a monetary guarantee, with the conditions for his release include electronic monitoring and that he enters the alcohol rehabilitation center.
“This is probably the right place for this young man at the time,” Flahrty said during the arrest. “This is an important case, but significant sanctions. But I can tell the court that this young man is not a risk of flight.”
An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of the death of Porben Patel, the district prosecutor said.
Meanwhile, on May 31, Krisha Patel services were held, according to the girl’s obituary.
“Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to such a valuable little soul. In her brief, she filled the world with laughter, miracle and love,” said her obituary. “Her smile could illuminate the most dark day and her kind heart touched everyone she met.”
“Although her time here was too short, her spirit will forever live in the hearts of all who loved her,” said her obituary. “We will always carry her memory with ourselves – as a beautiful, brilliant star in the sky. Let her rest calmly, wrapped in love and light.”
The crash remains under an investigation by Franklin police, the Norfolk District Prosecutor’s Office and the collision analysis and recovery section and the restoration of the state police in Massachusetts.
