To cross the noise, we reached out to three nutritionists to get our expert opinion on the best vegetable milk. And everyone came out with the same answer: fortified soy milk. Why nutritionists love fortified soy milk

There are many unfounded myths about soy, especially when it comes to cancer. Still, you may be surprised to learn that research has found that soy foods such as soy milk can protect against cancer. For example, a meta-analysis of 52 studies found that people who drank the most soy milk are 25% less likely to develop cancer (and the overall consumption of soy foods reduces the risk of cancer by 31%).

What makes soy milk such a powerful enemy against cancer? “The soybean milk is also a good source of isoflavones,” says Lauren Harris-Pinkus, MS, RDN. Isoflavones are natural compounds called phytoestrogens found in certain plants, especially soy, which can help prevent cancer.

Ways to enjoy fortified soy milk

Whether you are new to fortified soy milk or you just could use more ways to add it to your rotation, these tips can help.

  • Mix it in turmoil: Fortified soy milk is a perfect basis for smoothies, offering a creamy texture and impetus to nutrients.
