Albuquerque, NM (AP)-Tuesdays released a long investigation report, describing some of the latest emails, phone calls and searching on the Internet by Jean Hakman’s wife in the days before her death, which shows that she is looking for info information and breathing techniques.
Betsy Arakava died in February of the Hantavirus-Raily Pulmonary Syndrome, rodent transmitted disease, which can lead to a number of symptoms that include flu-like diseases, headaches, dizziness and severe respiratory suffering, researchers said. Jean Hakman is thought to have died about a week later from heart disease with complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
The partially mummified remains of the 95 -year -old hackman and 65 -year -old Arakava were found at their home in Santa Fe on February 26, when workers on home maintenance and security workers appeared at home and signaled police.
According to the report published on Tuesday, Arakava’s review showed that it actively examines the medical conditions associated with Covid-19 and flu-like symptoms between February 8 and February 12. Searchs include questions about whether Covid can cause dizziness or nose circles.
She also mentioned in an email to her array that Hakman woke up on February 11 with the flu or cold symptoms, but that the Covid test was negative and would have to defer her meeting for the next day “of abundance of caution.”
The story of Arakava’s search also showed a request for a Medical Service of a porter in Santa Fe on the morning of February 12th. An overview of her phone records from investigators showed that she was calling a service that lasted less than 2 minutes and missed a return to a call later that afternoon.
Investigators also reviewed the history of Hackmans’ home phone calls with voice messages and security footage from stores Arakava had visited on February 11.
Authorities are also expected to release more cadres from the police camera from the interior of the home, as the sheriff’s deputies and investigators have tried to gather what happened to the couple. The written report describes them that they pass through rooms of the home and find nothing unusual and there are no signs of forced entry.
They found paper bags for grocery on the closet floor. Inside a bag was a copy on February 11 at the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper. They also documented a bag of professes that were open, as part of the content was missing.
There were a large piano and sofas in the living room, according to the report. There were pillows on a sofa, as if someone had slept there. Investigators also described a collection of art, puzzles and supplies in the dining room, as well as medical supplies such as dressings and tape in several kitchen drawers.
The materials are released as a result of a recent court order, which requires any images of the deceased couple, must be blocked by the view. All photos, videos and documents from the investigation were restricted by the release of a more temporary court order.
The members of the mansion and the Hakman family tried to keep the records sealed to defend the constitutional right of the family of privacy.
A report from the Ministry of Health in New Mexico showed an environmental assessment of the Hakman property, open stools of rodents in several outbuildings and live traps in the property. The interior of the home was clean, with no rodent activity data.
Nestled among the hills of Pinon and Hunipper overlooking Santa Fe, the Hakman’s home is no different from the other in the area, as mice are common in the surrounding landscape.
One of the couple’s three dogs was also found dead in a crate in a wardrobe in Banya near Arakawa while two more dogs were found alive. The State Veterinary Laboratory linked the dog’s death for dehydration and hunger.
A lawyer at the mansion, Kurt Somer, said during the hearing last month that the couple had made great efforts to stay outside the public light in their lives and that the right to control the use of their names and likeness must extend to their mansion in death.
Associated Press, CBS News and CBS Studios intervened on the matter, saying in court reports that they will not distribute images of the couple’s bodies and blur images to darken them from other records.
