Former UFC champion with two BJ Penn Division was again arrested by Hawaii police on Thursday morning and charged with violating a temporary restraining order. It was Pen’s fourth arrest for a period of three weeks, with his previous arrests related to Pen’s continued allegations that his family had been killed and replaced with independent.
Hawaii’s authorities said they had responded to a report in the area of Pa’Eo Street in Hilo at 11:15, and that Pen, the famous UFC Hall, “entered the residence, violating the temporary restriction order in which Pen is a defendant.”
“Pen was in the area and arrested without incidents. He was processed at the Hilo Police Department and released after the publication of a guarantee, which was set at $ 3,000. He was planned to make his original appearance in the family court on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:30 am.”
The Hawaiian authorities did not specify the nature of the temporary restraining order, but Penn Lorraine Shin’s mother, 79, filed for a temporary restraining order against her son at the end of May. Judge Jeffrey NG approved the order, which should remain active for at least 180 days. Pen is expected to remain at least 100 feet from his mother and is not allowed to connect to Shin while the temporary order is in place. Continuing violations of the conditions of the judge can lead to violations and a potential prison.

The 46 -year -old Penh was arrested three times three times for a period of six days in late May. The first two incidents occurred on May 25 and then again on May 26, as on the charge of abuse of a family or household member. Pen’s third arrest came as a result of the former UFC champion did not appear in court and thus violated his warranty agreement.
According to court documents received earlier by MMA Fighting, Shin claims to have suffered an “extreme psychological abuse” in the hands of her son, with Pen accusing her of being an impostor who “killed his family” and took over her mother’s identity. Shin told Hawaiian court that she believes her son is suffering from Capgrass syndrome, a rare psychological disorder that often causes people to believe falsely, that loved ones are self -made, masked as family or friends.
Although there is no single cause, brain injuries and neurodegenerative diseases are thought to be among the potential mitigating factors, along with schizophrenia or other mental health conditions.
“I trust my son [B.J. Penn] suffers from Capgrass Syndrome [a psychiatric disorder in which a person holds a delusion that a friend, spouse, parent, other close family member has been replaced by an identical imposter]”Shin wrote in a statement provided to the authorities.” He believes I am an impostor who killed his family to gain control of family assets. “

In Shin’s initial request for a restrictive order, she claimed a disturbing pattern of Penn behavior. After returning from a trip in early May, she said Shin, she noticed many of her belongings “like clothes, shoes, jewelry, personal belongings” and even her bed was removed from her bedroom. Shin handed a police protocol after Pen refused to take the items, she said, and for a few days, she was, too, “my driver’s license.
Shin said she then put security cameras inside and outside the home while installing a Deadbolt lock on her bedroom door. According to Shin, Penn removed or seasoned with cameras and “also put glue in my dead bolts that stopped me to open my bedroom door.”

Shin claims Penn then stole his mail and aggressively shining a flashlight in his face on the night of May 25 when he collided. To prevent her from calling the police, Shin claims that Pen “grabbed my hands and pushed me against the gray sedan with 4 doors, which felt a sharp pain in my back,” resulting in screaming Penn’s younger brother, Reagan, to help. In the end, Pen was arrested and sentenced to stay away from his mother’s home for 48 hours, but Shin claims that he had caught Pen again to enter her home the next day. As a result, Pen was arrested again for breach of the police order.
Pen has made numerous posts on social media in recent months, claiming that his family has been killed and replaced by independent. A video posted on May 17 shows that Pen is arguing with a woman who looks like she was screaming, accusing her of being a “identity thief” who is not really his mother. The following video, published on May 27, refers to Shin as “False Lotarin Shin” and “Teif Murder”.
Pen for the last fought in the UFC in May 2019, then suffering a record seven consecutive loss. He was subsequently released by UFC after a video appeared on Penn in a street match in front of a Hawaii bar.
“He won’t fight again. That’s it. It’s a sheath,” UFC CEO Dana White said in 2019. Get together before thinking about fighting again. “
