A dead brain pregnant woman from Georgia is a history of horror. The fault of the Republicans is.

Currently, horror history is developing at Atlanta Hospital.

The 30 -year -old Adriana Smith was nine weeks pregnant when she sought medical treatment after experiencing intense headache. The hospital did not take any tests – she just gave her medication and sent her home, according to a 11alve report, a NBC branch. The next morning, her friend woke up to make the sounds of Gargari, which is thought to be caused by internal bleeding. She was collected to another hospital, where the CT revealed blood clots in her brain. Later, she was declared dead – which means that she no longer lives by law.

Although she will never regain her mind, Smith’s body is maintained alive by machines, all because her pregnancy has progressed three weeks after the limit determined by the ban on Georgia’s abortion.

“For me, this is a torture,” her mother April Newkirk told 11alive. “I see my daughter breathing, but she’s not there.”

This is the horrific reality of what the Republicans have created – women to be deprived of their dignity, to be considered as nothing more than the womb. Goop allowed this nightmare to happen because they refused to listen to medical professionals who told them laws like the one in Georgia would create complex scenarios. Now a family must live with the pain as well as the financial burden.

This Georgia woman is an example of what Republicans want

Abortion rights activists hold signs while gathering in the US Supreme Court to mark the second anniversary of the court, canceling ROE against Wade, Washington, USA, June 24, 2024, USA, June 24, 2024.

Smith has been supporting life for more than 90 days. Her pregnancy progresses to 21 weeks. When she reaches 32 weeks, doctors will try to deliver the baby, which means that until then her body is forced to continue to breathe, essentially a vessel for her unborn child. According to Newkirk, it is possible for the baby to be born with healthy complications due to fluid in his brain.

“This decision should have left us,” she told 11alive. “Now we have to wonder what life will have – and we will be the ones we grow it.”

Opinion: It’s official: Trump is a historical failure and we finally recognize it

Together with his unborn child, Smith leaves behind a son. The child visited his mother to the hospital and believes she is sleeping.

While Newkirk says he does not know if the family would choose to end the pregnancy, the option is not even given to them, as doctors are required to follow the six -week ban on abortions of the state. If Rowe against Wade was still the law of the earth, they would have had a choice. According to legislators, Smith is no longer in the immediate danger, a situation in which doctors will be allowed to have an abortion.

Imagine that this is your daughter – a mother, a girlfriend, a person who is treated as less than a person to protect the fetus growing inside her. Imagine you know she is dead and can’t plan a funeral service or even grieve because her body is still breathable. Imagine you know that welcoming a child in the world will mean the forthcoming death of a loved one.

This case of Georgia is not an anomaly. Women suffer.

This is not the first cruelty because of the ban on abortion in Georgia. Last year, Propublica reported that two women died of pregnancy and abortion problems after the ban came into force in 2022. Despite these unimaginably gloomy stories, Republicans still gather against abortions, despite the dangers of women.

Opinion: Congratulations, Republicans! Your fear of pronouns is tanks for the economy.

This is the new normal that Republicans fought. Even after this tragedy, party members refuse to take responsibility for this terrible scenario.

“I think this is an unusual circumstance, but I think this emphasizes the value of innocent human life,” Georgia Ed Setsler, one of the sponsors of the six -week abortion ban, told The Associated Press. “I think the hospital works appropriately.”

Although Smith and her boyfriend wanted this child, it is important to note that at nine weeks her fruit would barely go through the embryo stage and cannot survive alone. The choice of what happened then should not be left to lawmakers who are not affected by hospital accounts and emotional pain. He had to leave the family.

This is not about the protection of women. It was never about protecting women.
