One of Jacksonville’s most famous craft breweries sharply closed its doors after 26 years, with its owners saying that the business is no longer financially sustainable.
Lunch customers arrived on June 24 to find Seven Bridges Grille & Brewery, at 9735 Gate Parkway N. In Tinseltown, empty, with the exception of several employees who make equipment and other final details, including preparing to hook a “closed” sign.
“This is due to a lack of business,” said Jonathan Blair, Chief Operations Officer of Kelly Companies from South California, a private company that owns seven bridges and many other restaurants, told The Times-Union.

“I feel bad for our team, but we couldn’t turn it over,” Blair said, adding that the company was turning to other restaurants in an attempt to help former employees of the seven bridges to find a new job.
“We didn’t go that far,” Blair said as they asked him about the possibility of seven bridges to open, move or change concepts.
Dating since January 1999, Seven Bridges is known for its many craft fountain beers, as well as its food menu, including steaks, burgers, wings, sandwiches, pizza and salads.
The closure comes five months after another long -standing microphabitation, Ragtime Tavern, closed its doors, ending nearly 42 years at 207 Atlantic Blvd. in the Atlantic Beach.
Ragtime had similar suggestions, such as craft beer, seafood, steaks and more, in the high -profile angle of First Street and Atlantic Boulevard, as it first opened with only 12 tables in 1983.
