Eight members of the ruthless transnational gang on the 18th street have been charged with several brutal beating and stabbing to preserve their dominance on the commercial corridor of Avenue Roosevelt in Queens. Meng praised law enforcement to work to combat the violence of bands in the area. The Ocasio-Cortez service did not respond to a request for comment.
“As I continue to say, public safety should always be a top priority in our communities and dangerous criminals who commit violent crimes must be held accountable,” Meng told Fox News Digital. “This includes anyone responsible for these types of disgusting activity.”
The problem band has been a magnet for crime for years.
NYPD’s deputy public safety mayor, Kaz Doutri, told Fox News Digital in May that problems such as prostitution have been penetrating the area for decades and he remembers that it is a hot spot for prostitution in the 90s. Daughtry said the migrant crisis exacerbates the situation as many migrants are attracted to the area, given that it already has a large population of Latin America.
In October, Mayor Eric Adams headed a heavy police jump called Roosevelt’s Operation, which consisted of over 200 additional police officers, which reduced crime by 29% in the area, Daughtry reported.
