Trump says the popularity in the polls gives him a third -term platform. See his approval grades.

President Donald Trump has said he is seriously involved in a duty, although the highest service of the nation is limited to two terms of the US Constitution.

Talking to NBC News on Sunday, Trump cited the number of polls as proof that “many people would like to take up a position for another term.

But Trump’s approval assessments for his first weeks of service are some of the tallest in modern history, beating only his own in 2017.

Plus, the presidents can only be elected at only two terms in the White House, as stated in the 22nd amendment to the Constitution.

Trump’s early approval ratings began at historically low levels

Several surveys have shown that Trump has a net positive approval rating in his first month back to the White House during his current term, USA Today reported in February. But according to many measures, they were still the second lowest evaluation of approval in modern history. The most were Trump in his first term in 2017.

Since then, the numbers have not shifted significantly, but Gallup Alling provides historical comparisons with other presidents.

To the last poll in March, 43% approve of Trump’s work as president. In March 2017, 42% approved his work.

Here’s how this is compared to other presidents in March from the first year of their Presidency, according to Gallup:

  • Barack Obama – 62% approved

  • George W. Bush – 58% approved.

  • Bill Clinton – 53% approved

  • George HW Bush – 60% approved

  • Ronald Reagan – 60% approved

  • Jimmy Carter – 72% approved

Can Trump run for a third term?

According to the Constitution, as it is, no.

Changes to the Constitution are extremely difficult and rare, as this requires a two -thirds vote with both in the House and in the Senate. States can also encourage amendment, but this requires two -thirds of the state legislative authorities to be called a constitutional convention and three -quarters to ratify it.

Trump has confirmed that one way he can endure another term is if Vice President JD Vance is running for an office and then handed over the role of Trump, NBC News reports.

“As much as you watch it, you have a long time,” he told NBC. “We have a long time ago. We have almost four years old and it’s a long time, but still so many people say,” You have to run again. “
