“Without Kings” a protest that takes place in Boston throughout the country against Trump’s policies

“There are no protests of kings across the country against President Donald Trump.

Saturday’s protests were planned to counteract the festivities for Trump’s 79th birthday, which falls on the day of the flag and the 250th anniversary of the army.

Protests without Kings are a national day of challenge organized to reject authoritarianism, the first billionaire policy and militarization of democracy.

Here’s all you need to know:

Why is it called “without kings”?

The topic “without kings” was organized by the 50501 movement, a national movement made up of everyday Americans who defend democracy and against what they call the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration. The name 50501 means 50 states, 50 protests, one movement.

The protests earlier this year have condemned Trump’s advisor and billionaire Elon Musk, now the former leader of the Trump Government, a government organization designed to reduce federal costs. Protesters called on Trump to be “dethroned” as they compared his actions to that of a king rather than a democratically elected president.

“They denied our courts, deported the Americans, disappeared from the streets, attacked our civil rights and reduced our services,” says the group on their website, citing the Trump administration and its policies. “They have done all this as they continue to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.”

Why are they protesting on Saturday?

The day of the challenge of the kings of the kings is organized to reject authoritarianism, the billionaire policy and the militarization of democracy of the country, the organizers said.

The organizers intend to oppose the holiday of the 250th anniversary of the army – which Trump has accumulated to include an expensive, lavish military parade. The event will include hundreds of military vehicles and aircraft and thousands of soldiers. His 79th birthday and flag are happening.

“The flag does not belong to President Trump. It belongs to us,” says the King website. “On June 14, we show ourselves everywhere he is not – to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings.”

Where will the protests happen?

Protests in nearly 2000 seats are scheduled throughout the country, from city blocks to small cities, from steps from the Court of Justice to Community parks, organizers said.

Protests are not planned to be held in Washington, Colombia County, where the military parade will be held. The group says that this day will “take action everywhere, the history of America.”

Without Kings, he plans to make a leading hike instead and get together in Philadelphia to make a clear contrast between his movement, powered by people, and what the organizers have identified on their website as “expensive, lavish and non -American birthday parade” in Washington.

How many people are expected to participate?

Defience No Kings is expected to be the largest mobilization of one day after Trump has returned to office, organizers said. The organizers said they were preparing for millions of people to go out into all 50 states and municipalities.

In Boston, the protest will coincide with the annual parade of Pride, a holiday of the LGBTQ+ Community.

The demonstrations are also gathering in 90 places in Massachusetts, including Warkster, Springfield, Hyanis and Pitfield.
